One Last Prayer

Dear Lord,

Today I offer one last prayer for the chapter I am closing.
Not from bitterness, not from jealousy, not from loss
but from the peace of finally letting go.

I see now how much of my time was wasted,
how my heart was restless each time I carried the weight of her choices.
You have shown me the truth,
and with that truth, I choose freedom.

I no longer wish to walk beside her,
not now, not in the future.
That door is closed, and I will not return.

But, Lord, I lift up those who remain by her side.
Her daughter [an innocent soul] may she never inherit the pain of her mother’s mistakes.
Protect her, shield her, and let her grow in light and love.

Her husband [bound to a difficult road] grant him strength,
grant him patience,
grant him forgiveness that only You can pour into the human heart.
For I know, Lord, that cheaters rarely change,
and yet, I pray that he may find wisdom to walk his own path with dignity.

This is not a prayer for her,
this is not a prayer for us
this is my last prayer,
the seal upon a chapter closed.

I leave her to You, Lord,
and I walk forward in peace.

Amen.
